New Nebraska Athletic Director Trev Alberts gained some points with Husker Football fans.  Yesterday Alberts announced Nebraska Football tickets and Nebraska Football Parking passes would be printed.  The university was going to do mobile only tickets, but the fans smoke and Alberts listened.  The Nebraska Ticket Office says Husker Football Season tickets will be mailed around August 9th.  Red Zone Tickets is in the market to buy any unused Husker Football tickets from those fans that can’t attend all the games. Red Zone Tickets will buy your entire season ticket package as well if you decide you don’t want to attend any of the games this season.  Here is a copy of the letter that was emailed to Nebraska Football Ticket Season Ticket Holders on Thursday.

Thank you for purchasing 2021 Nebraska Football season tickets. We have all endured a difficult year during the COVID-19 pandemic and I can’t wait to see Memorial Stadium once again turn into a Sea of Red.

I am honored to return to my alma mater as Athletic Director and welcome the opportunity to serve our student-athletes, and the best fans in college athletics. Husker fans will always be at the core of our decision-making process, and our fan support is what separates Nebraska Athletics from our peers.

I want you to know that we will always listen and be responsive to our fans. To that end, Nebraska Athletics will be providing you with the option of receiving printed tickets and parking passes for the 2021 football season. Long term we intend to continue the transition to mobile ticketing, but we heard the message that many of you prefer printed tickets.

If you wish to receive printed 2021 Nebraska Football season tickets, please complete the survey by clicking the button below. Printed tickets will only be available to season ticket holders, and because of the late decision to provide this option, these printed tickets will have a simple look. However, it will provide fans the comfort of having a hard ticket in their hand when they arrive at Memorial Stadium.

For those who choose to utilize mobile tickets, we have made a significant investment in additional scanners and are committed to providing an efficient entry process at the gates of all our venues this season. Regardless of which option you choose, all football season ticket holders will receive a 2021 souvenir ticket at no cost. The souvenir tickets will be sent to the address on your account in November.

We have also heard from our loyal fans in the South Stadium about the need for increased amenities. My promise to you is that we will explore long-term options to modernize South Stadium and provide the same type of game-day experience as our fans in other parts of Memorial Stadium.

In the meantime, we will be making modest improvements in the South Stadium for the 2021 season. This will include additional portable restrooms, added concession options and more televisions in the concourse area.

I will be communicating more information to all season ticket holders soon, but first wanted to make you aware of these immediate changes in ticketing and fan amenities for the upcoming season. Thanks again for your loyal and unmatched support.

Lincoln’s Lied Center for Performing Arts has two dates to see The Nutcracker. This year’s performance is organized by Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company with Shari True, Artistic Director, and the Nebraska Symphony Chamber Orchestra.

 

Both Lincoln and Omaha will host Mannheim Steamroller between December 20-23. The songlist will include both holiday tunes and Fresh Aire tracks from Mannheim Steamroller’s founder, Grammy-winning Chip Davis.

In the NL, the Rockies will host the Dodgers (twice) as well as Cy Young candidate Aaron Nola and the Phillies in August and September. Scott Frost will make his official return to Memorial Stadium as Head Coach of the Nebraska Cornhuskers on April 21 for the 2018 Red-White game. It has been an exciting last few months for Husker Nation as Coach Frost put together a top 25 recruiting class. Two players from that class who will be making their much anticipated debuts for Nebraska include top junior college running back Greg Bell (Arizona Western College) and freshman quarterback Adrian Martinez (Clovis West HS, Fresno, CA). Kickoff is set for 11am.

 

The spring game sold out in less than 24 hours after tickets went on sale last month but Red Zone Tickets is never sold out and we have a great selection of tickets still available. If this will be your first time being part of the “Sea of Red” inside Memorial Stadium this seating guide below will help you in choosing your seats. Please give Red Zone Tickets a call at 402-991-8774 if you have any questions or would to purchase over the phone.

 

The stadium is split up into four different sections: North End Zone, East Stadium, South End Zone, and West Stadium. We will divide this guide into sections outlining Stadium and End Zone seating. Followed by explanations on limited view seating and the visitor/student sections.

 

In East (Sections 1-11) and West (21-31) Stadium the first four rows are numbered A-D, then they are numerical and go 1-47. To make things easy, Row D and Row 1 in these sections are separated by a walkway. Additionally, walkways are present in front of Row 23 and as dividers of odd and even numbered sections in both the East and West Stadium. Premium seating is available in both East and West Stadium through the Club sections. The West Stadium Club seats are found in Sections 221-231 and Sections 322-330. These seats give you access to indoor areas with  food/beverage vendors, private restrooms, and plasma televisions. Alternatively the East Stadium Club seats consist of Sections 401-413 with the same amenities found in the West Stadium Club. East Stadium has two additional sections. A balcony level made up of Sections 101-111 and Upper Level seating spanning across Section’s 601-613. The upper level has around 15 rows to a section, while the balcony section is slightly larger with roughly 17 rows to a section. The rows in North and South End Zone are numerically numbered and have roughly 99 rows each. Walkways are again present as dividers between odd and even numbered sections. A jumbotron exists in the North End Zone and a smaller video board exists in the corner between East and South Stadium.

 

Because this is an older stadium there are some areas with limited view seating. The most notable limited view areas are found in Rows 40-47 of East (Sect. 1-11) and West (Sect. 21-31) Stadium – these areas may have somewhat of an obstructed view due to pillars holding up the stadium so keep that in mind if purchasing tickets in these areas. Next, sitting in East or West Stadium Rows A-D will put you practically right on the field and because you are so close to the bench it will give a limited view for some portions of the field (although there are no objects – other than coaches and players – blocking your view). In light of the walkways, East/West Section’s 1-3 may present a challenge with other fans passing by your seat throughout the game. The same is also true for odd numbered sections in the stadiums – specifically Section 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, or 11 in East and Section 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, or 31 in West.

Creighton has their eyes on “bigger and better” as they look to build off last year’s 25-10 campaign that saw them ranked as high as #9 in the nation, finish second at the Big East Tournament in New York City and qualify for the NCAA Tournament.

 

The Bluejays will be led by returning starters Marcus Foster and Khyri Thomas in addition to nine other returning letterwinners from last season. New faces will give Creighton some added firepower thanks to Coach Greg McDermott hauling in the nation’s 21st ranked recruiting class in 2017.

 

This year’s schedule look to be one of the nation’s most challenging on paper as the Bluejays look to continue building themselves up as a major brand in college basketball. Creighton will travel to Gonzaga and face the 2017 national runner-up, two games against an Xavier squad that reached the Elite Eight last year, four matchups against Sweet 16 qualifiers (Butler, Wisconsin, UCLA and Baylor), and nine games against NCAA tournament qualifiers from last season.

 

The Bluejays were selected to participate in the 2017 Hall of Fame Classic at Sprint Center in Kansas City on November 20th and 21st. They will play UCLA at 6pm on Monday, Nov. 20th and will take on either Baylor or Wisconsin the following night (Tuesday, Nov. 21st) in what will be two great opportunities for them to make an early season statement to the nation.

 

A few marquee non-conference home games are sure to be highly entertaining contests for Bluejays – the Yale Bulldogs (who won a NCAA tournament game in 2016) will be the opponent on November 10th in the season opener at CenturyLink Center, an always entertaining matchup against in-state rival Nebraska happens on December 9th, and one of the nation’s premier mid-major programs UT Arlington comes to Omaha on December 18th.

 

Big East play gets underway on New Year’s Eve as the Bluejays will host Providence. In total, Creighton will have eight home conference games with St. John’s (January 3rd), Butler (Jan. 9th), Seton Hall (Jan. 17th), Georgetown (Jan. 27th), Xavier (February 10th), Marquette (Feb. 17th), Villanova (Feb. 24th), and DePaul (Feb. 27th) set to visit Omaha this season.

One of the league’s best rivalries will be renewed on Sunday as the Packers are set to take on the Vikings in Minneapolis. Green Bay has won three straight games and will be looking to make it four straight as they look to put an early season grip on first place in the NFC North. Aaron Rodgers is on pace to have another great year and rookie running back Aaron Jones has come out of nowhere to be the offense’s featured back. Kansas City continues to look and play like the league’s top team while Pittsburgh has looked nothing like themselves as they have struggled to open the season. While the Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith has taken his game to an elite level the opposite has transpired for Ben Roethlisberger as he threw a career high five interceptions last week against Jacksonville. Despite the struggles, Pittsburgh enters with a 3-2 record and sits atop the AFC North. Kansas City is undefeated and will be looking to improve to 6-0 while simultaneously avenging last season’s brutal home playoff deat to the Steelers. It should be a great one at Arrowhead.

A new era begins this season for the UNO Mavericks hockey team as Mike Gabinet takes over behind the bench after the retirement of Dean Blais – who led the Mavericks to the program’s first and only Frozen Four in 2015 – in March. Gabinet is no stranger to UNO as he was a member of the hockey team from 2000-2004 before going on to play professional hockey. Following his playing career, he got into coaching and last season returned to Omaha as an assistant coach under Blais. Now he will look to get the Mavericks back on brack following a disappointing 17-17-5 season in which they failed to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.

 

Coach Gabinet will lean on a returning core of upperclassmen this season in senior forwards Jake Randolph, David Pope, Tyler Vesel and junior goaltender Evan Weninger. Despite the low preseason expectations from the media look for the combination of energy injected from a new coaching staff and veteran experience in the returning core of players to fuel the Mavericks as they embrace an underdog role this season. Gabinet’s new system of hockey is more structured and organized on the defensive end which should translate to a better flowing and more productive offense.

 

The Mavericks welcome Arizona State to Baxter Arena on October 20th and 21st to kick off the regular season slate of home games. Northern Michigan comes to town on November 24th and 25th for a pair of contests on Thanksgiving weekend in Omaha. December will be a busy month for UNO as St. Cloud State (Dec. 1st and 2nd), Minnesota Duluth (Dec. 8th and 9th) and Union (Dec. 29th and 30th) will all be in town for a weekend series. After the calendar flips over to 2018, January will bring Miami of Ohio (Jan. 12th and 13th) and Western Michigan (Jan. 26th and 27th) to Omaha. The biggest home series of the season takes place on February 16th and 17th as North Dakota returns to town. Senior weekend is set for February 23rd and 24th as the Mavericks will host the Colorado College Tigers.

Nebraska will lean on the trio of Glynn Watson Jr, Jack McVeigh and Jordy Tshimanga this season as the Cornhuskers look to rebound from last season’s 12-19 campaign and make their first postseason appearance since 2014. Another name to keep an eye on will be ESPN Top-100 recruit Thomas Allen who could provide a much needed spark to this team.

 

The Cornhuskers will need to make a huge leap forward this season in what figures to be a defining year for Tim Miles as head coach. After getting to the NCAA Tournament in 2014, Nebraska have since struggled to rise above the bottom of the Big Ten standings of the past few seasons. A reasonable goal for this team is a birth in the NIT with a trip to the NCAA Tournament serving as the ultimate goal. To obtain either, a significant improvement is needed on the offensive and defensive end of the floor.

 

It looks to be an exciting non-conference schedule as the Boston College Eagles (11/29) and Kansas Jayhawks (12/16) will both make trips to Lincoln. Both games will present opportunities for the Cornhuskers to obtain marquee victories over major conference opponents which will go a long way towards helping Nebraska return to postseason basketball.

 

The conference schedule will offer no easy games in a conference where any team looks capable of beating any team regardless of standings or rankings. In light of this the Huskers will need to get off to a fast start in the non-conference schedule and build up confidence for later in the season. Big Ten opponents Minnesota (12/5), Wisconsin (1/9), Illinois (1/15), Michigan (1/18), Iowa (1/27), Rutgers (2/10), Maryland (2/13), Indiana (2/20) and Penn State (2/25) will all make visits to Lincoln this season.

Saturday, October 14, 2017 – Ohio State Buckeyes at Nebraska Cornhuskers, 6:30 PM CST

 

 

Nebraska will look to bounce back from last week’s disappointing loss to Wisconsin this Saturday night at Memorial Stadium against the Ohio State Buckeyes. Nebraska fans will be encouraged to remember the last time Ohio State played in Lincoln the Huskers pulled off the biggest second-half comeback in school history to erase a 21 point deficit to win 34-27 in 2011.

 

It will take an equally inspired effort to send the Buckeyes home with their second consecutive defeat at Memorial Stadium. The Huskers will be led by running back Devine Ozigbo, who posted his third straight 100 yard rushing performance last week, and will need him to move the chains all night in order to keep Ohio State’s potent offensive attack on the sideline.

 

Ohio State enters the game following their most impressive performance of the season in last Saturday’s 62-14 victory over the Maryland Terrapins. They are led by J.T. Barrett who is one of the nation’s most lethal dual threat quarterbacks. The Blackshirt defense has a very large task on deck to keep him in check on Saturday night as he is – by far – the most explosive and dynamic quarterback they have faced all season.

 

This is undoubtedly the biggest game in Mike Riley’s three seasons at Nebraska. He will need to get his team ready to play the game of their lives in what has turned into a must win game for the Huskers and their head coach. It’s another night game at Memorial Stadium with kickoff set for 6:30pm and the Huskers will need every person in that stadium cheering loud and proud.
